Throw Good Light on People

Photo of a lit up spotlight on a dark background

Talk about their value. Pay attention when they talk; listening by itself is a gift these days. Notice what someone’s life is like; celebrate and empathize.

Especially, invest good expectations in them; they will more than likely fulfill them. Green bars.

Conversely, it’s no surprise that bad interactions drain our batteries. They taste and smell bad. We make things worse by dwelling on them and spending energy trying to forget. And when there’s someone we clash with, we spend energy expecting future interactions to be likewise unpleasant. This invites the self-fulfilling prophecy to create more unpleasantness.

We can all add green bars to the work environment. Let’s fill it with air that feels good.
