In or Out of Your Comfort Zone?

What if you could get comfortable outside your comfort zone?

Some people spend their lives building a wall around their comfort zone and, while that may protect them, it keeps their experiences and relationships finite. Some comfort zones are OK because they protect. For example, my comfort zone does not include sky diving and I’m fine with that fear.

But too often, irrational comfort zones limit us needlessly.

For example, avoiding public speaking or meeting new people can isolate you or reduce potential personal and career gains. Often the things we fear are simply excuses so we don’t have to push ourselves to try new things.

We certainly experience more growth when we move outside our comfort zone. And, when we find ourselves outside of it, we can think one of two things: “Oh no, I’m out of my comfort zone” or “Good for me, I’m out of my comfort zone.” Which will bring you more of what you want in life?
