Confident people wield a magnetic power. That’s what draws us in. When people are drawn in, they follow. So confidence makes it easier to influence, negotiate and lead.
Confidence encourages adventure. It takes guts to get out of your comfort zone. Therefore adventure encourages confidence.
It is self-perpetuating. You can cause yourself to be confident by putting yourself in positions which require it. After a while adventuring becomes its own reward. Think of all the places you could bring into your comfort zone, all the people you could do it with and all the fun you could have doing it.
I can’t prove that confidence lengthens your life—though I’d bet my left arm on it—but imagine all the ways it can add depth.
